Human Impacts on the Ecosystem
As a way of teaching students kinaesthetically about their impacts on the environment, I altered an assignment found online to fit the specific outcomes of this topic. The project split students into groups of four where they were each given specific roles and tasks to follow. The students were assigned to specific tasks based on ability and readiness levels. The first link is a SMARTboard presentation that introduces students to landfills and their impacts, and then moves onto introducing the assignment.

The second link is another presentation that further outlines the main designs used when building landfills.

Finally, I've attached the design sheet that students were required to use in developing their landfill. Before they were given materials they had to show me that thought went into their design.
