Endangered, Threatened and Extinct Species
As a way of incorporating several different learning styles and levels of readiness into a lesson, I developed two main parts to this lesson. Firstly, a SMARTboard presentation was used to help student review the important definitions and ideas within the chapter. This also allows students who are read/write and auditory learners to be differentiated for. Secondly, a multi-day poster project was designed. Students were asked to complete research on an endangered species within the province of Alberta. The project was differentiated by specific readiness levels. Some higher level students were asked to complete more intense research, while others were given a much shorter, more open ended research task.
