Producers, Consumers and Decomposers
To teach students about producers, consumers and decomposers a SMARTboard presentation was created. Because students have learned about these definitions before, the presentation acted as more of a review than as a lesson. The lesson catered to visual and auditory learners.

After reviewing the words, students were to create flashcards to better understand the words. I allowed students to use coloured cards and markers to help with visual learners.
Students then took part in a game of producer, consumer, decomposer war. To play the game, students were put into groups of 2 and given one deck of cards. The cards had images of different producers, consumers, decomposers and scavengers on the front and the backs were blank. The cards were flipped upside right at the same time. The person who "gained energy" out of the two revealed animals got to keep both of the cards. The game continued until one person ended up with the whole deck.
